Our approach to protection
Cyber Crime is always evolving, leaving most users with the question, how do we protect our business?
At A&R Solutions, we take these threats seriously, and have designed all our security services to overlap. In the world of cybersecurity, having a single layer of defense doesn’t cut it.
We look at security from multiple perspectives to build layers for you. Let’s take a look!
The Human Firewall
The human firewall refers to your users, the people working at the computer. Most attacks are avoided by having your users aware of cybersecurity risks that exist and trained in looking for these attacks.
A&R offers this training as part of a partnership with Breach SecureNow, a leading awareness platform designed to help users understand risks, without the technical information.
The following items are included in each awareness package that we offer.
- Yearly cyber awareness training and tests (roughly 30 minutes to learn and pass)
- Monthly micro awareness training and tests (roughly 5 minutes to learn and pass)
- Monthly Newsletters that describe the most recent targets of cyber crime
- Email anti-phishing campaigns to test your users on their knowledge about what to look for in fake emails
- Guides to creating your own Information Security policies
Your Network Firewall
Every customer should be using an enterprise level network firewall. These devices protect your inside networks from attackers, and use multiple security policies to do so. Let A&R’s advanced networking team go over the details and benefits to adding a firewall like SonicWall, to your network.
Securing the Cloud (Communication and Collaboration)
As our daily tasks shift to more remote work, or more emails throughout the day, it’s important to remember that your online presence is also protected.
A&R Solutions recommends using Microsoft 365 services for your email, personal file storage, video calls and text chats. A huge part of Microsoft is the use of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). The best of all, this is a FREE inclusion, that takes 5-10 seconds to setup and protects your Microsoft 365 logins.
We also layer the use of this MFA with an added Microsoft 365 license, Azure Information Protection. What this does, is allow your Microsoft 365 to recognize possible risks and sign-ins for your users, even if they make it through the MFA.
So, that’s securing the cloud, but let’s talk about protection. Microsoft 365 offers Defender for 365, and it’s a service we recommend you enable.
It protects you from phishing emails, spam emails, can create a safe link and safe attachment scanner, setup policies to stop credit card, SIN and payroll information from leaving. The list might be too long for this section, so we urge you to reach out to sales to setup a meeting with one of our 365 security specialists.
Lastly, we’ve secured the cloud, we’ve setup policies to try and stop as much getting through, but what happens if the worst case still happens?
The most common statement is the cloud is always backed up. Well, that’s only slightly true with all cloud providers like Microsoft. It’s true, they have a very basic level of backup, but it cannot go back in time and retrieve things. At most, they can only go back 30 days and it’s not reliable.
That’s why A&R Solutions has also partnered with DropSuite. They are the leading cloud backup provider and take care of all your Microsoft 365 data. It’s all done in the background, managed by A&R Solutions and you can rest assured that your users and their data are safe.
Your Endpoint Security
Endpoint protection with A&R is a combined effort of their Remote Management and Monitoring (RMM), as well as their Endpoint Security Service.
BitDefender is our Endpoint Security platform, and with this leading product, cyber threats have been stopped dead in their tracks. We have a full section on BitDefender, and encourage you to read through about BitDefender.
RMM, what is it? Through DattoRMM, we have deployed this software as a monitoring tool. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean what you’re thinking, DattoRMM can’t monitor what you’re doing on the computer.
We’re actually looking at your computers for signs of infection or computer failure, running Windows updates and checking for warranty or replacement dates. RMM tells us if a computer’s BitDefender isn’t working, or it’s offline.
Lastly, it’s our remote tool to help and support you, the customer. Using DattoRMM we can remotely connect and fix the issue any of your users are having.
